Modern dairy goat farm in southeastern part of Estonia

Location:

• The modern goat farm with a dairy at Andri-Peedo Farm is situated in the southeastern part of Estonia.
• The farm buildings are approximately 500 meters away from the residential houses.

Livestock:

• The farm has approximately 300 dairy goats, mainly of the Thüringen Waldziege breed.
• There is space for 600 goats.

Land:

• The farm has a total 100 land area of hectares.
• Out of this, 50 hectares are owned by the farm, 20 hectares is agricultural land.
• Additional 50 hectares is rented land.

Agricultural Land:

• The agricultural land consists of organic permanent grassland.

• The farm was built in 2017.

• The barn has an insulated concrete floor. Deep bedding is used for livestock management, and manure cleaning occurs 2-3 times a year.
• Sun-heated air and heat pumps are used for open hay drying and storage.
• A crane is used for hay handling during drying and feeding.
• The milking parlor features GEA/Westfalia milking technology with 2x24 goat milking stations.
• The dairy processing area includes cheese-making rooms with cheese vats (1300L), a cheese press, a brining bath, a flow-through pasteurizer, and other necessary equipment for cheese production. There are also two cheese aging rooms, a packaging room, and a storage area.
• The visitor reception area, complete with a kitchen, could potentially be used as a small restaurant. Furniture and equipment are available.
• The farm’s outdoor area is covered with concrete pavers for easy maintenance.
• The milk cooling room houses two 2500 m³ milk coolers.
• Automatic washing equipment is used for cleaning milk pipelines.

Residential Buildings:

• The farm has two residential houses sharing a common courtyard.
• The older house, with an area of 220 m², was built around 1925 and renovated in 2008. It features 2 floors, 6 rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, and a cellar. Heating is provided by air-to-air heat pumps.
• The newer house, covering 110 m², was completed in 2018. It includes an open-plan kitchen and living room, 3 bedrooms, a toilet, a bathroom, a technical room, and a storage area. Heating utilizes water-based underfloor heating, and water is heated using an air-to-water heat pump. Both houses have hot and cold water, sewage facilities, showers, and internet connectivity. Additionally, each house has a wood-burning fireplace.
• Adjacent to the residential buildings, there is a 260 m² outbuilding and a separate traditional smoke sauna built according to the local customs of the region.
• The residential area also features solar panels with a 6600W inverter.
• Furthermore, there is a pond covering more than 1200 m² near the residential buildings, suitable for swimming.

Operational Permits:

• The goat farm and dairy have all the necessary permits for operation.
